Does iPhone 6 Have a SIM Card?
All mobile phones, including all Apple branded mobile iPhones, have a SIM card. In the case of an Apple iPhone 6, it uses the same SIM card that nearly all iPhones use. In fact, all SIM cards are mass produced, thus allowing all SIM cards to fit into different models of phones. Like all other phones, iPhone 6 too has a sim card. An iPhone cannot work without a sim card. You can use an iPhone 6 without the SIM card, but the basic function of a phone, which is to make calls, cannot be served without a sim card. iPhone 6 has a lot of other advanced functions and apps that do not require a SIM card. As long as you are connected to WiFi, the iPhone 6 can be used without a SIM and will function just like an iPod Touch. However, having a sim card in it is equally and most important because it is what makes it an iPhone. It will not be able to serve its basic and prime function. SIM cards make this phone as useful and compatible as any other phone.

All versions of the iPhone 6 use a nano sized SIM card. This is one of the smallest sizes of SIM cards on the market. The IPhone 6 and 6s series phones use a nano sized SIM card. All iPad Air and Mini devices also use nano sized SIM cards. IPhones in the 5 series used a micro SIM card while earlier versions of the iPhone used a mini sized SIM card. There are four sizes of SIM cards. The introduction of each new size saw a significant decrease in size from its predecessors. The standard SIM card sizes are full, mini, micro and the nano sized card which is the newest and smallest size of SIM card. A full sized SIM card is approximately the size of a credit card and has never been used in any iPhone. A nano SIM card is about one quarter of the size of a mini card and 60 percent of the size of a micro sized card. Despite their diminutive size, nano SIM cards hold the same amount of data and use the same amount of power as the larger cards.
How to Open Sim Card Slot on iPhone 6
To gain access to this SIM card while operating an iPhone 6, you will need to locate the SIM ejection button. This is a small button, similar to a reset button, that needs to be prodded with a small sharp object so that the SIM card can be ejected. This button is located on the right hand side of the iPhone 6. To press this button, it is suggested to use either a paperclip that has been unfolded, or a SIM card eject pin. Refrain from using a pen or pencil, as pencil can easily break and get trapped into this button, making it impossible to put another tool into the slot.
If you learn that you have a problem with your SIM card, which is a common complaint among Apple iPhone owners, it is suggested that you visit your cell phone carrier local store or call them for some assistance. Most SIM card issues are caused by incorrect configuration that was done by your service provider. They can usually fix it on their end.
SIM Card Not Recognized
There are a lot of way to troubleshoot this. Once simple fix requires you to open up the iPhone 6. Located where the SIM card sits are gold prongs. Using a tool, spring these prongs a little up.
